Website Redesign ROI: Nordhavn Case Study

How rebuilding a slow template site into a fast, editorial portfolio changed lead quality - and what it took to get there.

Nordhavn Studio's old site was doing the opposite of its purpose: a slow template that ranked poorly, said nothing about the quality of the work, and failed to capture qualified leads. The brief was simple - make the work look like the work - but the execution took discipline.

The first decision was static-first rendering: ship HTML fast, then enhance. Core Web Vitals scores landed in the high 90s, which matters for both users and ranking. The second was editorial layout design that let the portfolio breathe, built on a content model the studio's own team could update without engineers.

The third was treating the redesign as a lead-generation system, not a brochure. Clear paths to enquiry, case-study detail pages, and conversation-nudging copy targeted at the studio's actual buyers changed the shape of incoming leads.

The result, twelve months in, is what a good redesign should be measured on: performance scores in the high 90s, growing organic traffic from a content focus, and doubled qualified enquiry completions. The lesson generalizes - redesigns earn ROI when they're built around a conversion goal, not a visual refresh.
